Privacy Policy

Last Updated: 7 August 2026

In short

• We collect data to run your account, bookings, payments, safety, and support.
• We share what vendors need to fulfil a Booking—not more than necessary for that purpose.
• You have rights under Indian law (including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023) such as access, correction, and grievance redressal, subject to exceptions.
• We use reasonable security; no online system is perfectly secure.
• On supported Android devices, the Occaza Team App may process call-history data from a user-selected Work SIM, but only after clear disclosure and permission.
• You must be 18+ to hold an account and transact; we do not knowingly process children’s data for contractual services in a way that violates law.

Key definitions

• “Personal data” — data about an identified or identifiable individual, as defined under applicable law.
• “Processing” — collection, storage, use, disclosure, or similar handling of personal data.
• “Platform” — Occaza’s customer-facing apps and sites and, where specifically stated, the Occaza Team App.
• “Team App” — the Occaza Team Mobile App used by authorised Occaza team members for operational workflows and performance reporting.

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how OCCAZA EVENTS (OPC) PRIVATE LIMITED (“Occaza”, “we”, “us”) processes personal data in connection with the Occaza Customer App, the Occaza Team App where specifically described below, and related services. It should be read with our Terms of Service and Refund & Cancellation Policy.

2. Who this applies to

This policy applies to customers using the Platform in India and to authorised users of the Occaza Team App for the processing specifically described in Section 12. Occaza determines the purposes and means of processing described here in its role under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) where it applies, subject to clarifications from the Data Protection Board of India and future rules.

3. Information we collect

We may collect:

• Identity and contact: name, phone number, email;
• Booking details: event date, location, guest count, preferences, notes; booking-request status; add-on quotes and payment status; security deposit amounts or status where the Listing or checkout collects them;
• Invoices and receipts: transaction references, invoice identifiers, and download metadata where you use in-app invoice features (for example service payments, add-ons, or Occaza platform charges where offered);
• Payment-related information as shared by payment partners (we do not store full card numbers on our servers unless a certified flow explicitly requires it);
• Account and security: login identifiers, device/app information, IP address, logs;
• Product usage (first-party): for example recent searches, viewed Listings or categories, and similar signals used to improve discovery and your experience (often stored on your device or in your account as the app implements);
• Support and dispute records: chats, tickets, complaint details, and internal operational notes created for investigations, quality, or dispute handling where permitted;
• Reviews, ratings, and survey responses where you choose to provide them.

4. Purposes and lawful bases (DPDP)

We process personal data for:

• Service delivery: account creation, Bookings, booking requests, payments (including booking request fees and add-ons), confirmations, reminders, and invoices where available;
• Vendor coordination: sharing necessary details with the vendor for fulfilment;
• Safety and integrity: fraud prevention, abuse detection, security monitoring;
• Legal compliance: tax, accounting, regulatory requests, and law enforcement where required;
• Improvement: analytics and product improvement in aggregated or de-identified form where possible;
• Marketing: promotional messages where permitted and with consent or opt-out where required.

Where the DPDP Act requires consent, we will seek it separately for optional processing (for example certain marketing). Necessary processing for the Platform and your Bookings may rely on other valid grounds as permitted by law.

5. Sharing with vendors

To fulfil a Booking we may share relevant information with the selected vendor (for example name, contact, service location, timing, preferences, notes). Vendors are contractually required to use this only for fulfilment and permitted support, not for unrelated marketing without appropriate consent.

6. Other recipients

We may share data with:

• Payment processors and banks;
• Cloud, messaging, and analytics providers under confidentiality and security obligations;
• Authorities when required by law or to protect rights and safety.

7. Cross-border transfers

If personal data is transferred outside India, we will do so only in compliance with the DPDP Act and applicable rules (including permitted territories or safeguards as notified).

8. Payment data

Payments are processed by third-party gateways. Occaza may receive status, transaction references, and masked identifiers. Full card credentials are handled by certified partners under their policies.

9. Marketing and notifications

We send transactional messages (bookings, security, legal). Promotional messages are sent where allowed; you may opt out of non-essential marketing as provided in the app or by contacting us.

10. Cookies, SDKs, and analytics

We may use cookies, mobile SDKs, and analytics to run and improve the Platform, measure performance, and prevent fraud. We may also process first-party usage data (such as search and browsing history within the Platform) to personalise results, show relevant categories, or restore recent activity. You can control some choices through in-app settings (where available), device settings, or browser settings.

11. Data security

We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

12. Occaza Team App: Android call history and Work SIM

### Scope and user choice

On supported Android devices, the Occaza Team App offers an optional calling-performance feature. Before requesting access, the App presents a prominent disclosure and asks the user to grant Android Phone and Call Log permissions. The user then chooses a specific SIM or phone account as the Work SIM. Occaza does not use this feature on iOS because ordinary iOS apps cannot read the device's system call history.

### Call-history information processed

When the feature is enabled, the Team App may read and securely transmit eligible call-log entries associated with the selected Work SIM, including:

• The telephone number, including blank or withheld-number entries where the device provides no number;
• Call direction or status, such as incoming, outgoing, answered, missed, rejected, blocked, or voicemail;
• Call date and time;
• Call duration; and
• The selected SIM or phone-account identifier and related device-provided account metadata.

The App processes call-log metadata and does not record or upload call audio or call contents. A telephone number does not need to be saved as an Occaza Directory contact, and no Directory-category assignment is required, for an otherwise eligible selected-SIM call entry to be included.

### Why we process it

Occaza uses this information to synchronise authorised workplace call activity and provide calling metrics such as total calls, incoming and outgoing calls, connected or answered calls, missed calls, follow-ups, call outcomes, and average call duration. We do not sell call-history data or use it for advertising, behavioural profiling, or unrelated marketing.

### Access and sharing

Call-history data may be visible to the signed-in team member and to authorised Occaza administrators or personnel according to account role and operational access controls. We may use contracted cloud or infrastructure providers to host or process the data on Occaza's behalf under confidentiality, security, and data-processing obligations. We disclose it to authorities only where required by applicable law or necessary to protect rights and safety.

### Synchronisation and SIM controls

The Team App synchronises eligible call-log entries when the App is opened or resumed, when calling metrics are refreshed, and periodically while the App is active. It uses technical identifiers and time-based synchronisation controls to reduce duplicate records. If the selected Work SIM is removed or is no longer available, the App does not intentionally switch to another SIM automatically; the user must select an available Work SIM.

### Permission, withdrawal, and deletion

The user may decline the permission request, disable call-history synchronisation in the Team App, select a different Work SIM, or revoke Phone or Call Log permission through Android settings. If access is denied or revoked, new device call-history entries cannot be synchronised automatically. Revoking permission does not by itself delete information already transmitted to Occaza. A user may request access, correction, or deletion by contacting [email protected], subject to applicable legal, security, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution, and operational retention requirements.

13. Data retention

We retain personal data as long as needed for Bookings, support, legal/tax records, fraud prevention, and dispute resolution, then delete or anonymise as permitted by law.

14. Your rights (DPDP and other law)

Subject to applicable law, you may request:

• Access to your personal data;
• Correction of inaccurate data;
• Erasure or restriction where applicable;
• Withdrawal of consent for processing that relies on consent (without affecting prior lawful processing);
• Nominate another person to exercise rights on certain events, as the DPDP Act may allow.

Withdrawing data necessary for Bookings may limit or end our ability to provide those services.

15. Children

The Platform’s contractual booking and payment features are not directed at persons below 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children for such purposes in violation of law. If you believe we have, contact [email protected].

16. Automated decision-making

We do not rely on solely automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you, except where necessary for fraud prevention or as disclosed.

17. Updates to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy. Material changes will be notified through the Platform (and email/SMS where appropriate). Continued use after the effective date may constitute acceptance where the law allows.
